FAQ

Your questions answered.

Where is the RainDrop Cloud System located?
We are 100% USA based. Nothing is outsourced and there is no need for you to learn a foreign language when you call our friendly, knowledgeable, USA-based support staff!
Can we install our own applications for our organization on RainDrop Systems Cloud?

We really don’t encourage this type of practice for security and licensing concerns. We will however, be more than happy to install your application and even contact the organization that supplies it to ensure we have it tuned and running at its optimal configuration. We charge a fixed price if the application is listed on our support software page. We welcome the opportunity to install any new applications that are not listed on our supported page and more than half the time this service is FREE! Just call us, we are here to help!

Do you update my accounting software in your Cloud when new versions are released?
Yes for a fee, which is only performed per your request or you can have your Software reseller handle the updates if you prefer.
Do I need a firewall at my location?

Yes and No. For remote sites with only a few users there is usually no requirement for a dedicated hardware firewall. For locations where there are 4 or more users, we highly encourage a hardware firewall solution of some kind and highly recommend Sonicwall Firewall Products. The majority of our Engineers are Sonicwall Certified so please feel free to take advantage of our expertise by contacting us so we can determine what specific model would best suit your requirements and can provide a discount price quote that includes FREE installation for a new Sonic Firewall purchase. You can also use our price quote which lists all the part numbers and try to find a better price and acquire the firewall on your own.

What are the support hours for your Cloud Services?
Monday thru Friday, 8am to 6pm Pacific Standard Time excluding National Holidays.
Can my accounting Application be accessed by more than one user at a time?

Absolutely! So long as you have the appropriate license agreement for your application! Our Cloud services do not enable a single user version to immediately upgrade to a multi-user version. Conversely, if you have a multi-user license of an application, then we recommend the same appropriate number of user accounts.

Can I purchase RainDrop and use it with my current Cloud Provider?

Yes and No. RainDrop Networks is specifically designed to work with other Cloud Providers and is not limited to our Cloud Infrastructure alone. However, due to the patented technology of RainCryption we require a minimum purchase of 50 RainDrops and there is a nominal annual licensing fee required per RainDrop. We welcome any End User, Software Reseller or current Cloud Provider to contact us directly for additional details.

What if my Internet Connection goes down?

Great Question! Regardless of who your Cloud Provider is, if your location only has a single Internet Connection and it’s down, then yes you are down! Keep in mind the majority of our competitors brag about all their redundancy and fail to address this question or even hint that it exists! We highly recommend a secondary Internet Connection with a different Internet Service provider from your existing circuit.

Do I need to install any part of my software application on RainDrop or on my PC?
Nope! That’s one of the biggest advantages of RainDrop and our Cloud Solution!
Do I need to be on the internet to access my data / your cloud services?
YES! No internet no access!

Do you offer any discounts for annual or semi-annual payments?
Absolutely! Annual payment receives a 10% discount and 5% for semi-annual payments.
Do you offer discounts for Non-Profits?
Absolutely! We offer extreme discounts and we do mean extreme, anywhere from 15% to 80% depending on how much your non-profits “pays it forward”. Both inventors of RainDrop have a long history of charitable contributions to companies like Evangelical Christian Credit Union for more than 25 years – the largest Christian Credit Union in the USA and Compassion in Action for over a decade.
What is the initial setup fee?
There is a $500 flat fee of importing existing database applications, Exchange data or other PST files into our cloud environment. This fee also includes creating users accounts and installation of your main accounting application.
What forms of payment do you accept?

American Express and any Corporate standing PO. We plan to accept VISA and ACH payments by Q2 of 2020. Please feel free to contact us so we can add your name to the list of clients requesting VISA and/or ACH payments.

Will all of the features of my software application work with RainDrop and your Cloud services?
Absolutely, so long as your application is on RainDrop’s supported application list. If your application is not there – please contact us! Our Engineers crave new applications and more than half the time waive any fee.
Can I use RainDrop for graphic intensive applications like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Adobe Photoshop or high-end construction estimating programs like Sage 300 Estimating (Timberline)?
We really don’t encourage using these applications with RainDrop primarily because high-end graphic rendering could be sluggish and licensing concerns with these types of application. A better solution might be a dedicated onsite PC running Windows 7 Pro with a 2GB or 4GB video card, 16GB of RAM, 240GB Solid State Drive over a typical hard drive and a quad core Intel CPU.

There is no risk with our 60 Day Any Reason Cancellation Policy. Only pay the setup fee OR purchase a new HP server to transfer your VM at no extra charge.
Can I use any of my existing PCs to access RainDrop Systems Cloud?
Absolutely, so long as the PC is running a Windows Operating System of Windows 7 Pro or later. We do not support Windows XP Pro because it is no longer supported by Microsoft. We highly recommend replacing any old Windows XP Pro PCs with a new RainDrop.
Why do you recommend a different ISP than our current ISP for a secondary / backup Internet Circuit and which ISP does RainDrop Systems recommend?
Based on our expertise and experiences, if your primary Internet Circuit is down more than half the time it’s on the ISP side. If both of your Internet circuits are with the same ISP, then there is a good chance both Internet circuits will be down – which totally defeats the logic of having a secondary backup circuit! We can easily help you source a competitive discounted price for secondary Internet Service Provider due to our long-term relationships with the majority of ISPs nationwide. Just call us, we are here to help!
Do you ever own my data or software application?

Absolutely NOT! It’s your data. And it’s your software so long as you purchased it and there is no claim stating otherwise from the reseller or the author of the application!

What if we have branch offices of work-at-home employees outside of the USA that need access?

We currently support any access from inside the USA and Canada. We plan to adopt other countries in Q4 of 2020. Please contact us so we can add your country to the top of our list of consideration.

What if I fire an employee and then hire their replacement, is there a fee for deleting and creating user profiles / logins?
It’s included in your monthly subscription. FREE of charge! We are not here to nickel and dime you and totally understand this situation happens all the time.
What if I purchased a new printer and need help with the installation and configuration to your RainDrop Systems Cloud?

So long as the printer is on our supported printer list, it’s included with your monthly subscription fee.

Are backups of my data included with the monthly Cloud Hosting Fee?

Absolutely! RainDrop Cloud Hosting Fee include backups of your data and applications with a robust 90 day retention policy. Please feel free to contact us if you have ANY concerns about this issue. We want to emphasize the fact that there are numerous Cloud Providers that don’t offer backup services at all and fail to mention this critical issue until something goes wrong!
